Volunteers and workers have manned tables at Woolworths, Big W and Kmart in the lead up the annual door knock which kicks off on Friday.
Captain Tahlia Grounds said many more hands were required to make light work of the fundraiser.
Mrs Grounds said the Salvation Army needed another 100 Orange volunteers to door knock on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
She said overall volunteer numbers were down on this time last year, with Millthorpe and Blayney volunteers particularly difficult to come by.
Mrs Grounds said anyone interested in volunteering could email her: tahlia.grounds@aue.salvationarmy.org or call: 0402 583 364
The Salvation Army's Red Shield Appeal raised $58,000 last year and aims to raise $60,000 in 2019.
