A young man is recovering in hospital following an assault on his way to work at Orange Aquatic Centre on Friday morning.

The man, who is in his twenties, was punched in the head while he exited his vehicle at 5am outside the Hill Street centre.
The assailant is believed to have then stolen property from the man's car.
Officers from the Central West Police District have canvased the scene and an investigation has commenced.
Chief Inspector Peter Atkins said the victim was being treated for minor injuries at Orange hospital.
Orange Aquatic Centre issued a statement on social media thanking early-morning swimmers for coming to the man's aid.
Police have asked anyone who was in the area of Hill Street at around 5am this morning who has information to call Orange Police Station on 6363 6399 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
