The NSW Minerals Council announced Ms Sharp in the top three in the Gender Diversity Champion category, alongside ANZ's Wai Mun Lum and BHP's Tim Whitney.
Newcrest Mining was also nominated for the Excellence in Diversity Programs and Performance award, alongside Peabody, which has coal mines extended from the Hunter Valley coalfields west of Newcastle to the southern coalfields north of Wollongong.
NSW Minerals Council CEO Stephen Galilee said the Women in Mining Awards acknowledge the important and increasing role women play in the NSW mining industry.
"Our finalists are all making an important contribution to a stronger and more diverse mining sector as our industry delivers jobs and investment for NSW - now and in the future," Mr Galilee said.
"All finalists are highly skilled champions of change in the NSW mining industry and we are pleased that these awards are able to highlight the amazing contribution they are making."
