Players from all across the Central West are being put through their paces at the GWS Giants development squad in Orange.
Coach Kieran Brown said it was an extra training sessions for juniors from all across the region who had been nominated by their clubs to take part, with an eye to head towards higher-level junior tournaments.
"Essentially it's a program for talented players in each club who are nominated by the coaches, with the focus being on getting people able to play at higher levels," he said.
He said there was the path through to under 15s, where players can take the path Scott Brown and Charlie Kemp are following through the GWS Giants academy and the NEAFL.
Numbers have dropped this season due to some players moving away, but Brown said he was hoping more young prodigies jumped onboard during the junior season, with 12 boys taking part - while girls are able to jump onboard the Western Region Academy of Sport's program.
