James Troisi in scans for hamstring issue

Troisi complained of tightness in his left hamstring and was substituted 30 minutes into Victory's 1-0 A-League loss to Adelaide United on Friday night.

The attacking midfielder is unlikely to feature in Victory's Asian Champions League fixture against Guangzhou Evergrande in Melbourne on Tuesday night.

And scan results will determine whether Troisi is fit for the start of Victory's A-League finals campaign in a fortnight.

"He felt some tightness in his hamstring," coach Kevin Muscat said.

"It wasn't an incident where he just felt it go, he just felt some tightening the minute or two prior to him coming off.

"So we'll assess that and find out more tomorrow.

"There's no point in me wondering, I will wait until I get the results and treat it as it presents."

After the loss in Adelaide, Victory will finish third entering the finals regardless of the outcome of their last regular season match against Western Sydney next Saturday night.

Muscat lamented a controversial call which denied his side a goal in their loss to Adelaide, who will enter the last round in fourth spot.

Victory's James Donachie headed into the net from a Keisuke Honda corner, only for teammate Georg Niedermeier to be penalised for contact with an Adelaide player.

Muscat said referee Peter Green's call was clearly incorrect.

"It should have been given a goal, it was that clear and that obvious," Muscat said.

"There was zero contact or minimal contact from all the replays I have seen ... and then the actual decision, I think, was incorrect."
