Some of Orange's finest young athletes will arrive in the Hunter Region in a week's time for the 2019 Your Local Club Academy Games. Hosted by the Hunter Academy of Sport, the event will be held across various venues across the region from April 12 to Sunday April 14.

Millie Wilcox, Elizabeth Gibson, Bailey Ferguson and Millie Wilcox are some flying the flag for Orange at the games, which will bring together athletes, staff, families and supporters from all 11 Regional Academies of Sport across NSW.
The competing academies include Central Coast, Far West, Illawarra, Hunter, North Coast, Northern Inland, South East, South West Sydney, Southern, Western Region and Western Sydney Academies of Sport.
The Games will also highlight guest Academies, including teams from Sydney and the ACT.
The Games features the emerging talent of 1300 athletes across 8 sports including Basketball, Golf, Hockey, Netball, Softball, Triathlon, AFL and Tennis. The inclusion of Triathlon is an exciting venture for the Games, as they had not been involved in the past few years.
The 2019 Games will also highlight an exhibition Para‐sport match, with Wheelchair Basketball and Para‐Futsal athletes competing on the Saturday morning of the weekend.
The 2019 Your Local Club Academy Games is proudly supported by Your local club, the NSW Government, Newcastle City Council, Lake Macquarie City Council, NBN News, Regional Academies of Sport and the Hunter Academy of Sport.
WRAS will be represented at the games by 84 athletes and 16 coaching staff and will compete in 5 sports over the weekend; Australian Rules, basketball, hockey, netball and tennis.
Orange athletes attending the games include Elizabeth Gibson for Australian rules, Keegan Baker, Zebedee Kongormanyi, Ainsley Holmes, Jayde Philpott and Charlie Wilson for basketball.
Meanwhile, Alexandra Cook, Bailey Ferguson, Emily Gould, Amy Hampton, Charlotte Heath, Kimberly Kiel, Taunui Pakinga, Brooke Pilcher, Joe Priest, Sally Uttley, Haidee Watson and Trent Wilde will represent the region in hockey.
Georgia Cornish, Megan Eslick, Poppy Keegan, Bailie‐Rose Miller, Lilly Mitchell, Ellie Mooney, Emily Provost and Amelia Wilcox will line up for the WRAS netball side.
