Welcome to Catholic Schools Week 2019, and we encourage everyone to explore this years theme “Discover the heart of our Catholic Schools”. It has been wonderful to meet our new crop of enthusiastic Year 7 boys and girls that have entered James Sheahan for the first time this year and of course welcome back all our returning students.

After visiting their classes in our amazing new Contemporary Learning Spaces, it has been lovely to hear their excitement at commencing high school and pride in wearing the James Sheahan uniform. We stress at James Sheahan that we are an inclusive community, celebrating and supporting students from very diverse backgrounds.

Events that James Sheahan will be taking part in for Catholic Schools Week include a special Parish Mass on Sunday, March 3 at 6.00pm at St. Joseph’s Church, a celebratory assembly on Monday, March 4 and a Year 7 Retreat on Friday, March 8. In celebrating Catholic Schools Week, we recognise the profound role that catholic schools have played in providing high quality, christ-centred education to Australian families for nearly 200 years.
In our goal to achieve high levels of learning for all students, we provide opportunities for excellence, growth and success in a caring environment. Valuing compassion, courage and hope, our students will be prepared for a changing world. We are focused on ensuring that our school is a place where every student can belong.
