Big Ideas, Small Bars at the Canobolas Hotel was the first installment in a new series of events hosted by the University of Sydney's School of Rural Health.
On Thursday Associate Professor Ollie Jay and Dr Adrienne Gordon, two of the University of Sydney’s leading researchers, were in Orange to talk about the risk of heat waves on health, and how what your grandmother was eating had a real effect on the genetic coding in her eggs.
Associate Professor Catherine Hawke, deputy head of the school, said Big Ideas, Small Bars was about bringing education, innovation and inspiration out of the classroom and into our community.
“These are concepts that could change the way we approach public health, research and learning,” she said.
“What a great opportunity for more people to hear about these ideas. [Thursday] night’s event was a huge success and the first in a series to be continued through the year”.
