About 10.15pm on Monday night police were alerted to two males attempting to break into the service station at Lucknow.
The males managed to force their way through some windows at the location.
Central West Police District Acting Commander Superintendent Bruce Grassick said the member of the public who alerted police allowed police to get to the scene "quite early".
When police arrived they were able to arrest a 20-year-old man and a 23-year-old man, both from Orange.
The men were charged with breaking into the service station.
"They were in there trying to get whatever goods they could get their hands on in the service station, fortunately we were alerted by a member of the public and were able to respond extremely quickly to the location and arrest those persons," Superintendent Grassick said.
"Information from the public is crucial in solving crime, a prime example is from this situation."
