NUMBERS are still a bit underwhelming with the Cupid’s Undie Run just days away.
Organiser Amy Toole says the fundraiser – which is is held to support those affected by neurofibromatosis, a genetic condition that causes tumours to grow on nerves – needed more people willing to take part to ensure its success.
Having previously been held in the city’s CBD, the undie run will start this year at the Panorama Hotel and continue at Morse Park.
Participants will return to the hotel afterwards to celebrate their efforts, according to Ms Toole.

So why do it? “It’s to raise money for the kids, really,” Ms Toole said. “That's the whole idea of it.”
“You don't have to run in your undies and there will be prizes up for grabs for the best-dressed.”
The idea, she said, is to feel uncomfortable for a brief time because children with neurofibromatosis feel uncomfortable for a lot longer than that.
“What's five to 10 minutes of running in your undies?” Ms Toole asked.
The run, which will raise money for the Children’s Tumour Foundation’s work, will be held on Sunday, February 17.
