The building on the corner of March and Clinton streets was built by the Ford family and remains the family home, behind the two shopfronts.
Marie and Pat Ford asked daughter-in-law Kylie to manage The March Street Salon and find professionals to staff it.

“We’ve spent the past three months renovating so it’s a beautiful little salon now,” she said.
Hairdresser Shaun Downey is the latest to join the salon, along with hairdresser Meagan Fitzgerald and beautician Sophie Law.
He said the concept interested him and he signed up.
GRACIE BURGER OPENS DOORS TO PUBLIC
WITH Orange’s latest burger source open six weeks after the opportunity arose, owner Max Schaapveld says it feels a little surreal.
The business held a soft opening at the former Dutch Embassy premises on Sale Street on Saturday, followed by the full opening on Sunday.

With eight burgers, four kids’ burgers, four sides and four milkshake flavours on the menu, including vegetarian and gluten-free options, Mr Schaapveld said the feedback had so far been encouraging.
“Especially our onion straws – they’re so much better than onion rings, they’re melt-in-your-mouth pieces of onion,” he said.
“My whole family is gluten free, so we’re really passionate about producing great gluten free food.”
DOWNSTAIRS MOVE FOR THE COACHING CENTRE
SHAWN Dwyer’s success in business coaching has enabled him to leave his rented premises on the first floor of Anson Street Plaza to owning space on the ground floor.
The Coaching Centre has operated since 2012 and Mr Dwyer said he focused on “unleashing leadership potential” in businesses.
“We can redesign a business, but it’s more the people who need the support, knowing what to do,” he said.
MEDITATION GROWS IN ORANGE ARCADE
WHEN Gaylene Vanes and her husband moved to Orange last year from Sydney, she wanted to remain in business.
She established the Sirona Centre at Orange Arcade in December, offering meditation classes for adults and children, as well as Reiki, aromatherapy and readings.

“I love helping people, I love the energy it provides,” she said.
She said meditation was becoming increasingly important for children.
“Even at a young age, they have their heads in computers or iPads and [meditation] gives them a moment to reconnect with nature.”
