They have been since they met at day care when they were three-year-olds, and now with the pair having turned five, they’re about to embark on their first big step out into the world together: their first day of school.
Their official classes don’t begin until Monday, but like most ‘kindy kids’ across the city, they’ll front up to school this week for orientation days to learn the ropes.
Nick and Noah are in the same class at Bletchington Public School, and the pair are full of beans to head to school.
I’m excited for them and I think it’ll be good for them to get into a routine [but ] it’ll be a bit sad seeing them go.
- Cindy Culverson
Orientation classes begin this week with their first official day of classes on Monday.
“Yes,” they respond with massive smiles on their faces when asked if they’re looking forward to their first day.
However, Nick has already adopted the mantra of students across the city when asked which part of school he was looking forward to the most.
“Getting picked up and coming home,” he said.
Noah said he was excited to be heading to school with his best friend, and said their teacher was “really nice”.
He’s also prepared to make new friends, with the pair having seen a video of a child without food at lunch, with fellow students donating food at lunchtime.
If he sees any other students at school in that boat, he’s ready to jump to the rescue.
Nick wants to have “everything” in his lunchbox, unable to decide if he wanted sandwiches or fruit or anything else.
Nick’s mum Cindy said “it’ll be an exciting journey for them”.
“I’m excited for them and I think it’ll be good for them to get into a routine [but ] it’ll be a bit sad seeing them go.”
