This week you won’t be surprised to hear conversation turn to the subject of how to keep cool in the hot weather.
Along with discussions over what fan or air conditioning system to purchase, there’s also plenty of talk about how the roads are holding up to the heat.
In fact there’s even reports of a sight that’s rarely seen in Orange and that’s melted asphalt.
On Sunday the CWD’s photographer Carla Freedman encountered two sticky situations; one while photographing racing at the velodrome when her tripod became stuck in the ground and the second was the buckling road she saw while driving over the Peisley Street bridge.
With temperatures sitting at around 35 degrees at about 3.30pm on Sunday after days of extremely hot weather it’s no wonder the roads are starting to buckle.
