“It was Nick’s idea last year to start collecting towards the Relay for Life,” Mrs Culverson said.
“He wants to raise $1000 this year, he’s raised $600 so far.
“It’s something we can do year round.”
To be eligible for the return and earn machine cans should not be crushed and bottles must have their barcodes intact.
Cans and bottles can be dropped off at 32 Botanic Way in Orange or at the Pamper Paws Dog Spa at Blayney or people can phone 0418 671 761 to have items collected.
“As long as they don’t have a car load I’m happy to pick them up,” Mrs Culverson said.
The team will also raise money at the Relay for Life on April 6 and 7 by selling toasted cheese sandwiches and they will also collect cans and bottles at the event.
The team’s fundraising can be seen online at www.cancercouncil.org.au/relayforlife/teams/ei00047149.
