A community breakfast will kick things off at 8am, followed by the official ceremony at 9am.
A barbecue, children's activities and the announcement of this year’s Local Citizen of the Year Awards will take place throughout the day, with Catriona Rowntree, a presenter of the travel show Getaway, addressing crowds as the event’s official ambassador.
Mayor Reg Kidd said Australia Day was a day when we celebrated all the things we love about our country, but particularly how lucky we are to live in a city as diverse as Orange.
“I am looking forward to the privilege of helping 36 people from a range of backgrounds, take the citizenship pledge and become the country’s newest Australians,” he said.
“I also love the annual Local Citizen of the Year Awards.”
