The Stars lost their final two games against Queensland Fire and eventual winner NSW Lions to be relegated to third spot after leading the competition mid-way through the tournament.
After initially beating the Fire earlier on in the tournament, the Queensland side were too strong on Monday, running out 2-1 winners over Healey’s Stars outfit, while the Lions racked up their second win over their fellow NSW side with a tight 4-3 win.
The Lions scored all four of their goals in the first half, including one right on the buzzer at the 20 minute mark, while the Stars could only score two of their own through skipper Alexandra Singleton.
While Lilly Twigg added a third for the Stars at the 26-minute mark, the side weren’t able to sneak any more shots past Healey’s opposite numbers Christine Flack or Teleah Walker.
