An eighth finish as a $2.50 favourite wasn’t quite the debut Orange trainer Alison Smith would’ve liked to see from Saahirah at Wellington on Wednesday, but that’s what transpired as the Mosayter mare faded to finish seven lengths off eventual winner Mochine Gun.
