If Orange City Council don't do something about the crossing outside Woolworths before Christmas there will be a lot of very frustrated taxi drivers.
And there will be even more very annoyed customers, who already are made to stand and wait as the taxis are held up by a traffic jam.
MAP: Where is the pedestrian crossing …
Cars are banked up back to Moulder Street, and in Kite Street to Lords Place and Sale Street.
On busy days, particularly before Christmas and Easter, it can take 15-20 minutes to go two blocks to get to the taxi rank.
I drive my son's taxi occasionally and I know how annoyed the customers get when it is the council’s problem.
It should be like Bathurst with a sign to say pedestrians give way to vehicles.
