Orange is predicted to be hit by damaging winds and large hailstones on Thursday afternoon according to the Bureau of Meteorology, which issued a severe thunderstorm warning.

The risk of “large hail” is likely to increase as the afternoon wears on, and up to 20 millimetres of rain is expected.
According to BoM data Bourke recorded a 87km/h wind gust at about 11:20am on Thursday, with Orange in the path of that weather system.
The BoM issued an update just after 1pm warning flash flooding was also a possibility.
As well as Orange, areas including Dubbo, Wagga Wagga, Albury, Deniliquin, Cobar and Bourke are also in line for expected hail and wind.
The State Emergency Service advises that people should move cars under cover and secure loose items, as well as move pets indoors.
