When I was visited by a representative from Alinta who offered me a substantially reduced price, I agreed to make the switch.
Not long after AGL phoned me to ask why I was leaving them. I explained the price difference to them, and was immediately offered a price of 28¢ per kWH.

A previous conversation told me they could only do 35¢, and there is a big difference between 42¢ and 28¢.

It's only when you vote with your feet you get a better deal.
