On Thursday the regular Ladies Social group held a casual morning tea in the clubhouse, in honor of Margaret Johnston who is retiring from tennis.

Margaret has previously been heavily involved in the running of club, serving on committee for many years, including the treasurer position from 1993-1997.
She was a team member that represented our club at Country Week at White City, Sydney for many years.
She is also a life member of our club and right up until this day has regularly played once a week. Unfortunately she has had to retire due to a shoulder injury.
She sure will be missed on the courts but has reassured players that she will pop into the club every now and then to catch up.
On Wednesday the Spring American Comp was held under a very pleasant night’s sky.
We had a few newbies join us so a warm welcome is extended to Kathleen, Kate and Tim from the ABC.
They certainly looked to be having a great time on the courts and assured us that they’d be back.
Winners on the night were Chrissie Kjoller on three sets and 26 games, closely followed by Lindy Crossley on three sets and 26 games.
First place for the men was Greg Redfern with three sets and 20 games and in second place was Andy Canon on 2 sets and 22 games. This friendly comp is open to any player who would like to come along and join in, with no obligation to attend every week.
Same applies for the Turn Up Tuesday Junior Comp with the aim being to just turn up when you are able. It’s fantastic to see the kids come along to play, under the guidance of our coach Darren Gersbach.
In first place this week was a tie between Olivia Hazelton and McKenzie Smith both on 18 games, second went to Luke De-Hamer on 16 games and another tie for third place went to Darcy Schofield and Ella Kingham both on 15 games, so very close scores once again.
For anyone interested in improving their game or just merely starting up, there is coaching every afternoon and also two sessions of Hot Shots every Friday for the younger ones.

Committee would like to pass on sincere condolences to Alan Hubbard on the loss of his Dad recently and also to Susan Hutchinson and Karen Newton, on the sad passing their Mum and past tennis player Merle Lang.
