Folia Nova, his first botanic show, features 30 photographs ranging from $650 – $2300.
Mr Gilbank said the works came about after picking up one of the leaves from the piles he was raking up in his yard.
“Every year I shovel about two tonnes of leaves from the garden when they fall,” he said.
“This time I happened to pick one up and noticed a whole lot of history and intricacies – I put it under light and lit it up and thought ‘wow’.”
Each photograph focuses on dormant of decaying parts of the garden, with some of the unframed pieces blown up to stretch 1.5 metres high and 1 metre across.
The show will run until November 15.
