In 1965 I went to Bill's 13th birthday with another mate, John Pine, son of former Orange detective Jim Pine.
The pub was, internally, a different place, but over the years until the present time I would call in during visits to Orange and catch up with Bill, Ann and family to say g’day.

To Bill and the entire Kelly family, their staff and, of course, the loyal patrons – CYMS supporters and others – I offer you best wishes.
I hope your new life away from the pub is long and fruitful. Congratulations on a stellar career in the pub game.
I am sure old Bill and Mary will have a little tear as they look down from above.
I am coming up from Sydney to say goodbye. As George Harrison sang … ‘all things must pass’.
