A PAIR of disqualified drivers were each handed fines of $1100 and ordered not to get behind the wheel for six months when they appeared before Orange Local Court on unrelated matters last week.

Kirsty Nesbitt, 36, of Bletchington Street, was caught driving a red Mitsubishi Lancer with a suspended driver’s licence at 3.40pm on August 1 after police received a complaint regarding her car.
Nesbitt was stopped by police on The Escort Way at Boree where police discovered her driver’s licence had been suspended from June 26 to September 25.
In the second matter, a man who triggered a police number plate recognition system was also fined $1100 and was disqualified from driving for six months for driving while disqualified.
Nicholas Ian Hodgson, 30, of Lords Place, was also handed a $110 fine for driving an unregistered vehicle and $110 for driving an uninsured vehicle.
He was driving a Holden Commodore on the Mitchell Highway at Bakers Swamp on June 24 when his expired registration attracted attention.
