“It’s important we support our youth by allowing them a voice to engage and participate in their community,” he said.
“To engage them in a way that builds their sense of self confidence and self determination and provide opportunities for them to become outstanding citizens in the future.”
The event will include dance, song and performance, and a welcome to country from the Canobolas Rural Technology High School’s Clontarf Academy.
Home cooks will provide foods from India, Nepal, Cambodia, Mexico, Indonesia, Pakistan, Brazil, Morocco and Indigenous food.
There will be free Tai Chi, yoga and pilates, as well as market stalls selling craft goods.
Orange Masala is a collaboration between the Orange CultureHub, Community Connect NSW, Orange Youth Arts Festival, Headspace Orange and Orange City Council.
The event will be held from 12-4pm October 20 at the Northcourt.
