One of the most expensive properties close to Orange is up for sale.
A price of $2.5 million is being tipped for the property, Uralla, which is on the Forest Road just past the Orange Health Service.
According to Google maps it is an eight-kilometre, 11-minute drive from the Orange post office, the same time as parts of north Orange.
Real estate agent Alistair Miller of LJ Hooker Orange said it was rare to find a property of this size and value in Orange.
“It is so close to town, this is a premium agistment property within two minutes of the hospital and five-odd minutes from town,” he said.

“It’s a flat block. It is very unique in that regard.”
Uralla, part of which dates back to the 1890s, sits on 42 hectares of grazing land with dams and space for 30 cattle.
It has six bedrooms, three bathrooms, two double lock-up garages, four formal and informal dining areas, a pool, a well-established garden and the remains of an old tennis court.
But Mr Miller said the most interesting room was an observatory with an outdoor entertaining deck which he said had a Great Gatsby-feel to it.
“It’s sort of got an Orange take on Gatsby from that upstairs observatory,” he said.

Mr Miller said the property had just been listed.
“Only a week and I’ve already had 15-odd enquiries. I’m doing a couple of inspections soon.”
He said he expected interest from three categories of buyers.
Mr Miller said that included Sydney families looking for a country escape, a doctor or health professional who would be close to the hospitals or a local who wanted property close to town.
He said the property had been used as for overnight and weekend rental for the past two years. “It is being rented out for $1250 a night,” he said.
The property also has a paying tenant. The Bell River Nursery is on part of the property with an ongoing lease until 2026.
Uralla is up for auction at 1pm on Sunday, November 18.
Mr Miller said ahead of that there will be open days at 2pm on Saturday October 27 and at 11am on Saturday, November 3 where you can dare to dream like Gatsby.
