Robert Bartlett produced Orange and District: A History in Pictures in 1994, which he will follow up with the appropriately-named Orange and District: A History in Pictures 2.
The hardcover coffee table book will contain about 500 images, ranging from street scenes, manufacturers and coaches to clippings from rare newspapers.
“There’s still a lot of stuff that’s never been public,” he said.
“I collected a lot of originals because once it’s gone, it’s gone – the photographs need to go back to the community and this is the best way to do it.”
Orange City Council donated $5000 to help cover the print run.
Mr Bartlett published another book in 1999, First Gold: A History of Ophir.
