Patrick Ian Johnson, 41, of Moresby Street, was sentenced to 350 hours of community service for a string of offences, including shoplifting and breaching good-behaviour bonds.
For possession of two oxycodone tablets on May 30, he was given a 12-month community corrections order with conditions that he attend drug rehabilitation and to abstain from drugs.
Solicitor Gerry Stapleton said Johnson was attempting to come to grips with his drug problem.
He was also given a two-year intensive correction order and 50 hours of community service for shoplifting a $299 Skagen watch on March 26.
Johnson was given a 12-month supervised intensive corrections order and was ordered to complete 50 hours of community service for stealing two debit cards, which had been posted to former residents at his address.
The offences put Johnson in breach of five good-behaviour bonds for which he was given supervised intensive corrections orders and was ordered to undertake 50 hours of community service for each breach.
The bonds, some which dated from 2014, were for possession of a stolen mountain bike valued at $2500, which he paid $250, having custody of a pocketknife style razor blade, shoplifting a Magellan Echo Sports Watch, stealing an engraving kit and shoplifting two retractable knives worth $100.
Solicitor Gerry Stapleton said Johnson was attempting to come to grips with his drug problem.
