Police said the off-duty senior constables’ duty status was being reviewed.
About 11pm on Sunday police were called to a Dubbo home after reports of a domestic incident.
Attending Orana Mid-Western Police District officers arrested the off-duty 40-year-old senior constable who is attached to a Specialist Command in the Sydney region.
The man was taken to Dubbo Police Station and charged with two counts of common assault, and one count of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
He was granted conditional bail to appear at Dubbo Local Court on Wednesday, October 10.
