The six projects will each receive a share of the funding through the NSW government’s Crown Reserves Improvement Fund.
Other beneficiaries include Old Molong Weir, which will receive $12,000 to spray the infestation of pest plants at East Molong Reserve, and $1870 to remove two trees to ensure the foundations of the Bloomfield Hall Community Centre.
Pioneer Oval, Northparkes Oval and Spicer Park will also be given $60,000 to construct a new accessible, unisex amenities block with disabled facilities at Spicer Caravan Park, $3087 will go towards weed spraying at the Parish Reserve for Forbes at Ashbumham and $16,074 will be spend on replacing a boundary fence at Wirrinya Recreation Reserve.
Parliamentary secretary for Western NSW Rick Colless said the funding would support the hard work of community groups.
“It’s vital that we keep these reserves upgraded and modern for community members to use and enjoy,” Mr Colless said.
“A flagship project will be kicked off with $164,000 in funding to upgrade the tennis courts at Mullion Creek Recreation Reserve.
“This will include upgrading existing sand tennis courts, construction of an exercise pathway through and installation of exercise stations.
“Meanwhile, holiday makers will benefit from a $60,000 investment at Spicer Caravan Park in Parkes to construct a new accessible, unisex amenities block.”
Minister for Lands and Forestry Paul Toole said the fund program was focussed on ensuring communities and visitors could continue to enjoy community land and facilities.
“This year we’ve made a record investment into crown lands with more than $20 million in grants and loans being provided across the state,” Mr Toole said.
The NSW government has invested $115 million into crown land projects in seven years.
