Delahunty played her first season season of Australian rules football this year, and prior to this season had never touched a footy, and said she was only at the awards “as the driver”.
The Bathurst Bushrangers gun was “ecstatic” to have won the count with 20 votes, one ahead of teammate Keeghan Tucker.

“The club helped a lot and taught me, they’ve been accepting … the competition is really good, the girls were really friendly and there was no malice in the game,” she said.
“It’s been fun, hopefully the competition keeps getting bigger … it’s been a fun experience.”
The netball and basketball convert wasn’t able to play in a grand final, with 2018 the first time the Lady Bushrangers haven’t made the decider. but said she’s likely to be back next season to try and reach the crown.
