Kyran Bubb mightn’t be getting too many Christmas cards from Bathurst Bulldogs players this festive season but the knock-about bricky probably doesn’t care all that much.

Bubb is now in elite territory as one of the few players to win a Central West Rugby Union first grade premiership and a senior Western Rams top grade rugby league crown too.
Bubb was part of three Orange CYMS sides to take out premierships in the last eight years, the last of which came in 2015 against Workies, and on Saturday added a Blowes Clothing Cup title to his mantelpiece too after helping Emus to a 30-18 decider triumph over the Dogs.
The last player to do the same thing was Scott Burgess, having won the 2014 Blowes Clothing Cup crown with Dubbo Roos in 2014 before backing up with Dubbo CYMS and winning the Group 11 title with the Fishies in 2015.
“It’s unreal,” an elated Bubb said post game.
“It was a really hard game, they came out well and even in the last five minutes there wasn’t much in it.
“Every time they had the ball they looked dangerous.”
By and large, Bubb was public enemy number one for the Bulldogs fans thanks largely to his no-holds-barred approach to his footy.

He went after his opposite, 2018 Blowes Clothing Cup player of the year Brad Glasson, and got the better of him throughout the big dance, and the major semi-final before that.
“That’s the way I play, I niggle them and they give it back, it’s not going to get under my skin, it’s just part of the game and I love it,” Bubb said.
“I shook all their hands at the end of it and there’s no hard feelings. It’s just the way I play.”
A backrower or lock in the 13-man code, Bubb said he came across to Emus to have a crack at rugby union but never thought he’d play five-eighth in a grand final winning first grade side.
“Maybe in second grade or third grade, definitely not in first grade. It’s unreal now,” he laughed.
