Owner Taylor Zarnow committed 100 per cent of the day’s coffee and drink sale profits to the drought relief effort, in addition to handing out free coffee vouchers to farmers all week.
“I grew up out near Clifton Grove and just seeing how dry it is and how hard they have it out there – we thought, what better way to help?” Miss Zarnow said.
The team pumped Aussie rock over the radio to get into the spirit, using social media to get the message out and encourage customers to come in.
At mid morning, barista Esther Parton said they’d already seen lots of new faces through the door as people were eager to help out.
“It’s been great,” she said.
“We made heaps of coffees already and we’re expecting another rush soon.”
