A MULLION Creek man who assaulted another man at a McDonald’s restaurant has been ordered to undertake community service.

Jay William Moses, a Muay Thai fighter of Long Point Road, appeared before Magistrate Williams in Bathurst Local Court.
Police said Moses and the victim had both been at Bathurst’s Oxford Hotel between 12.30am and 3.30am on Sunday, May 27, and had crossed paths several times.
There were a number of verbal arguments between the pair.
About 3.30am the same day Moses was at Bathurst McDonald’s when the victim and his friends arrived.
Moses said “what’s your problem?” and proceeded to push the victim backwards using both hands.
Moses then walked over to another man standing nearby and began celebrating, hugging the man and viewing footage of the incident on another woman’s phone.
The victim pushed back, and Moses punched the victim several times to the face and kicked him to the legs.
The victim attempted to walk away from the accused, however, Moses continued to strike hime.
The victim held up his hands to his face and began to fight back before attempting to escape.
Moses removed his shirt and followed the victim approached him from behind and continued to punch and push him to the side of the head.
He then grabbed hold of the victim and tripped him over. With the victim on his back Moses stood over him, threatening to punch him.
A member of the public broke up the fight.
Moses then walked over to another man standing nearby and began celebrating, hugging the man and viewing footage of the incident on another woman’s phone.
Police arrived and spoke to the victim who had blood on his left ear, a bleeding lip and facial swelling.
Police located Moses and saw he had blood on his knuckles and small lacerations. He was arrested but declined to be interviewed by officers.
References said the accused’s behaviour at the restaurant had been out of character.
Moses was convicted of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and ordered to perform 150 hours of community service. He was ordered to report to Probation and Parole.
