According to a spokesperson for the Western NSW Local Health District, staff were notified by Essential Energy a service interruption to a feeder line was the cause of the outage.
The hospital’s alternative power sources were activated and all essential services remained operational.
“Staff acted immediately to implement emergency procedures,” the spokesperson said.
“We apologise for any inconvenience and thank all our team at Orange for acting so quickly and effectively,” the spokesperson said.
Normal electricity services were restored in the early afternoon.
According to Essential Energy’s power outages map no other nearby residences or business were impacted by the failure.
