The man, who was unlicenced, drove past a random breath test at about 9pm in Spring Hill and police engaged pursuit, pulling him over.
Police then searched the vehicle and found a small quantity of methamphetamine and testosterone, with his car being seized.
In an unrelated incident, a 31-year-old woman in custody was found to have prohibited items and drugs hidden internally, with police alleging her aim was to take them into corrective services.
Central West Police District Inspector Linda Bradbury said it the items were noticed during a search.
“It’s obviously something we and corrective services keep an eye out for,” she said.
In further news, a rubbish truck carrying mulch came off the road after failing to navigate a corner along Euchareena Road near Molong at about 9am on Friday morning.
“Travelling down Euchareena Road, the truck failed to navigate a corner successfully and rolled onto its side and came to rest in the paddock,” Inspector Bradbury said.
“The trailer was left standing on its own wheels.”
The driver was trapped for a time and emergency services were called, but it is believed the 31-year-old male behind the wheel suffered no serious injury despite heavy damage to the truck.
