Jo Kratz is one of the wonderful women behind the wheel of the Cancer Council’s new car.
A breast cancer survivor herself, Ms Kratz said having retired from her job in community mental health more than a year ago, this new volunteer role has enabled her to use those skills to give back to the organisation that supported her.
“When I got my diagnosis I was devastated, but I got so much support that I’m just pleased to be able to help out,” she said.
The T2T program averages 60 clients each year and operates within a 200 kilometre radius of Orange.
Ms Kratz said when someone is battling cancer, transport is an added stress they don’t need.
“They are very grateful for the pick up,” she said.
