Member for Orange Philip Donato on Wednesday presented the club’s secretary Lisa Tracey and minute secretary Pam Kelly with a cheque for $2000 administered through the Local Sport Grant Program.
“The funding will be used to subsidise achieving national accreditation in coaching, scoring and umpiring,” Mrs Kelly explained.
“The training progresses in stages, but eventually it will allow participants to coach at a state championship level, which is the ultimate goal.”
Mr Donato said the fundiung was an important way to ”continue to support the professional development of our local sporting community”.
“I’m pleased this funding will support local softball players of many ages and I wish the association every success in future,” Mr Donato said.
