An under-strength Panthers came back from a 14-4 deficit to claim a 20-14 victory at King George Oval and will head into Sunday’s clash with Hawks hoping to produce a far more polished performance.
The return of both Jye and Kade Barrow and backrower Blake Seager will help Doug Hewitt’s side to just that.
“We did have about five or six blokes out but in games like that people need to step up. The blokes in those positions need to show where they’re at,” the classy No.7 said ahead of the round 10 game in Orange.
“We’ll take those two points, even though it wasn’t pretty, and we’re going to have to be a lot better than that this weekend.”
Blake Lawson remains out but is expected to return in a fortnight’s time after the Panthers’ second team bye.
