Through My Food Choice, patients have a choice of more than 15 hot meals at lunch and dinner such as traditional roast dinners, butter chicken curry, chicken parmigiana or spinach risotto slice.
HealthShare NSW Clinical Support Services executive director Carmen Rechbauer said light meals are also offered and the service is about encouraging eating.
She said the focus is on warm interaction with staff and tasty meals that promote good nutrition outcomes.
Food Services staff also use mobile devices to collect data on the amount of food each patient consumes, which is provided to dietitians to help them manage their patients’ care.
