The truck carrying perspex and the train carrying grain collided at a level crossing at Kiewa Street and Henry Parkes Way at 10.25pm on Monday.
The road was closed in both directions on Tuesday morning as emergency workers faced a major effort to clear the scene.
The train was derailed in the collision.
Both the train and truck drivers were uninjured.
Investigations were underway to determine the cause of the crash.
The latest update on Live Traffic NSW, posted at 1.34pm, said motorists should exercise caution at the site.
“Traffic control is on site to assist motorists through the incident site,” it said.
“Motorists are advised to follow directions from crew onsite and follow signage in place.”
Motorists travelling to Parkes had been detoured via the Escort Way through Cudal, Eugowra then on to the Parkes Eugowra Road.
Eastbound divisions were the same route in reverse.
