The annual charity collection on Friday, Saturday and Sunday added more than $30,000 to the $20,000 raised at the event’s official launch earlier in month.
There were 270 volunteers knocking on Orange doors, with another 100 support personnel and money counters lending a hand.
Nearly $4.5 million was raised across Australia.
The Salvation Army’s National Secretary for Communications, Lieutenant-Colonel Neil Venables, said the success of the appeal would underpin vital community services for another year.
“The Red Shield Appeal is the lifeblood of The Salvation Army, helping us keep the doors open to our many support services,” Lieut-Colonel Neil Venables said.
“It ensures that we can continue to support the women and children who are fleeing domestic violence, the people trapped in drug and alcohol addiction, the youth who are sleeping on our streets, and so much more.”
Volunteers are still out collecting and teams are still processing donations.
The tally will continue to be updated at salvos.org.au.
