Orange Show Society president Peter Naylor said the extra promotion surrounding the visit by the Better Homes and Gardens TV show last year helped raise the profile.
“I think everything we’ve touched has fallen into place this year,” Mr Naylor said.
“We’ve had a really good successful show.”
He said there was something to attract people of all ages but with more rides than space this year, some had to be sidelined and parked out of the way.
“We never clash with another show, there’s only one other show on [at Moree] a lot of the show men [and women] needed another place to park because they had other rides set up,” Mr Naylor said.
There was a sombre note on Saturday when Mr Naylor paid tribute to two long-standing members Ken McCarron and Bill Marshall who died in the past year.
The rest of the event was a celebration and on Saturday Laycee Hutchison stole the show, with her pink farm shirt and cowgirl boots winning her the Jillaroo competition in the under-2s age group.
“I love sheep and horses,” she said.

Fellow sheep lover Neil Williams from Four Mile Creek enjoyed success with his white Suffolks, winning the champion ram and champion interbreed ewe.
“They look at whether they’re sound on their feet, whether they hold themselves well and whether they have plenty of bone to hold the muscle,” he said.
“It’s about creating a product that’s saleable.”
It was a also big day for dog exhibitors.
The best in show and runner-up were two best friends – basenji Vegas and Hungarian Vizsla Merlot.
Owners Jodie Hatzikiriakos and Tiane Blaik, both from Sydney, said both their pooches behaved themselves in the ring and they enjoyed the travel aspect of showing.
“You get to see different parts of the country and we love Orange, Orange is great,” Ms Hatzikiriakos said.
Ten-month-old Italian greyhound Rojin Happy Feet was named best puppy in show and Cootamundra owner Ken Hodge said he loved the breed.
“There’s no maintenance, you put them in the tub and towel dry them and they’re ready to go,” he said.
