Eleanor has won two USA Southern Rookie of the Week nods and reached the Southern Regional Finals last week.
She travelled over to the United States of America last year after being awarded a four-year scholarship.
The club and especially coach Darren Gersbach are proud of you for what you have achieved so far. The hard work is well and truly paying off.
The Easter holidays proved successful with Darren and Alison’s three-day clinic, with 60 kids enrolling every day, great to see.
Parents are reminded to keep an eye on this column prior to the next holidays, and enrol as early as possible because they fill up fast.
We are just about at the end of the holidays so as well as the schools’ sport sessions returning to the courts, the usual private coaching each afternoon with Darren and Alison are back, and so are Hot Shots sessions on Friday.
They run from 3.30-4.30pm for beginners aged eight to 13, and from 4.30-5.30pm with Chrissie and Meagan for the youngsters, from four to seven.
Parents who are interested in having their child coached or starting their younger ones into tennis, then Hot Shots is for them.
Next Monday night the Autumn Night Competition resumes from 6.30pm.
Please organise your team and anyone who can’t play on the night needs to organise a reserve, contacts are at the clubhouse.
Wednesday night’s Winter Warmers Competition returns back too, any player that’s interested can turn up at 6.30pm to register or phone Chrissie at the clubhouse on 6362 8020.
It wraps up around 8.30pm.
There’s been really good numbers at our social days on Thursdays and Sundays, the ladies had enough to fill two courts on Thursday from 9am and in last Sunday’s mixed there was enough for three courts.
Col Parsons was the happy winner of the free hit voucher on the Sunday, and Brad Penrose will be on duty to organise the sets from 1.30pm this coming Sunday afternoon.
Any new players interested in having a hit are made very welcome, and are encouraged to come along and join in on either of these days.
