Heritage managers or owners in the Orange electorate can apply for grants from now until April 20, to conserve or develop sites.
Orange City Council was the recipient of a $100,000 grant towards Blowes Conservatory in the first funding boost last year.
Blowes Conservatory roof has been replaced, painting is complete and electrical wiring and lighting is now in its final stages ahead of an opening event next Friday.
“The fully renovated building is going to be a centre piece of Cook Park, and when the Begonias are in full flower it’s going to be an absolute picture,” Orange mayor Reg Kidd said.
“I welcome this latest round of government funding and thank the government for making funds available in this area.”
Cr Kidd said there are many more worthy projects worth considering around Orange and the council would be writing submissions to make the most of the opportunity.
“There are elements of Spring Hill we could work on,” he said.
“There are historic buildings in Lucknow that could do with some work – we’ll be looking very closely at what can be done.”
