Duntryleague Mansion Foundation chairman John Cook said the piano was purchased by James Dalton, who had the 142-year-old house built.
He said the Ronisch piano was donated by the Dalton family following James Dalton’s death in 1919.
“It was donated to the hospital and it was in the nurses quarter for 80 years,” Mr Cook said.
“Then from 2002 they had an auction up there and Mark and Bronwyn Andrew they bought it and they are just about to move house and they offered to donate it back to Duntryleague.
The piano was returned to the mansion on Monday.
