A white Subaru was stolen on Tuesday between 2am and 7am in Acacia Avenue.
Canobolas Local Area Command Inspector Linda Bradbury said a man had allegedly stolen car keys, the vehicle in question and personal property inside the car. The vehicle was found in Jindalee Avenue at about 8am with the man inside.
“Officers attended to the occupant who attempted to leave the scene in the car, and drove into the police vehicle,” Inspector Bradbury said.
The police car had minor panel damage.
The man was arrested and charged with seven offences, including use of an offensive weapon to prevent lawful detention; break, enter and steal; and driving whilst disqualified.
