THE mother of a young Blayney man who suffered serious back injuries in a car crash has spoken about the “amazing” support her family has received as they struggled through a heartbreaking Christmas.

21-year-old Josh Farr was one of six men injured in a single-vehicle crash on the Mid-Western Highway between Blayney and Bathurst during the early hours of December 17.
He is in a stable condition in the Intensive Care Unit at Royal North Shore Hospital, and will likely be moved to hospital’s spinal unit to continue his treatment and recovery.
His mother Allison Farr has been by his side since the harrowing incident and said her son had “good days and bad”.
“Christmas wasn't a very good day,” she said.
“We all did it hard, here and the family at home.
“The [hospital] staff made the day as good as they could, we just didn't feel very merry.”
The only bright spot to emerge from the tragedy has been the flood of support Josh and his family have received.
The visits, care packages, food cooked, texts and messages from friends and family have been what has gotten us through.

Mrs Farr said her son’s friends “have been by his side since the day of the accident”, while many others have assisted from afar.
Josh’s aunties Kellie Dunn and Trish Farr created a Facebook group – ‘Josh’s Road to Recovery’ – on which the family posts regular updates to keep the page’s 1100 followers up to date on Josh’s treatments and condition.
In the days immediately after the incident Mr Farr’s cousin Adam Hamilton created a GoFundMe page, which has so far raised over $46,000 – more than triple the account’s original goal – to help the family in their hour of need.
“It will be used to allow me to stay by his side whilst he recovers,” Mrs Farr said of the money.
“We haven't looked further than that at this stage.”
The family has been overwhelmed by the support shown to them in the past two weeks.
“The visits, care packages, food cooked, texts and messages from friends and family have been what has gotten us through,” Mrs Farr said.
“The support has been amazing and we're so grateful. We have no idea how we would ever be able to repay everyone.
“We would just like to thank everyone for their support, both physically and financially.”
