Ms Marshall will start with the organisation, a collaborative entity between Blayney, Cabonne and Orange Councils and the regional tourism industry, on Monday.
Orange Region Tourism chairman Peter Robson described her as a standout candidate.
“Her depth of regional experience is certainly impressive having worked on the Discover the Riches campaign for Cabonne Council which showcased the assets of the shire’s historic villages,” he said.
“We believe Caddie presents the best skills and experience to contribute to elevating tourism in the Orange region, and for leading operations for the next phase of growth.”
Ms Marshall’s first priority will be developing a unified brand and voice for Orange Region Tourism, including a website, social media channels, and mobile app for the region.
Brand Orange executive officer Rhonda Sear will complete her contract at the end of the year.
“It has been an absolutely incredible six years at the helm of Brand Orange, but it is now the right time to pass on the baton for a fresh perspective in taking the region’s tourism strategy to the next level,” she said.
“My intention is to remain in the Orange region and continue to contribute to the development of regional tourism at a strategic level, through my position as a Board Director of the Destination NSW Country and Outback Network.”
Mr Robson thanked Ms Sear for her hard work and dedication with the Taste Orange showcases and closer to home with her involvement in Orange FOOD Week, the Orange Wine Festival and the Banjo Paterson Australian Poetry Festival.
“Rhonda was a key driver of Orange tapping into the Sydney market, which was crucial to our exponential growth in attracting increased year-round visitor numbers from Sydney,” he said.
Ms Sear will oversee the handover and transition phase.
The Orange Region Tourism board will start commence on January 1, including Mr Robson, David Hoskins, Orange mayor Reg Kidd, councillors Jason Hamling and Jeff Whitton and Orange City Council general manager Garry Styles, Blayney mayor Scott Ferguson, Cabonne councillor Ian Davison, Phil Tudor, Tony Cheney and Philip Shaw.
