BLIND PIG IN TUNE
The owners of the Blind Pig want to foster new musical talent by hosting live music every weekend.
Formerly Dotted Eight Cafe, owner John Vandenberg and his son Ethan are looking to host jam sessions at the new venue.
“It’s all about the music. The goal is to attract young musicians to have a jam or for impromptu performances,” Mr Vandenberg said.
“It’s a new take on the speakeasy, it’s not a pub but it’s not a formal venue.”
HEART OF THE CITY
The Orange Business Chamber has moved closer to the heart of the city.
The chamber will now work from the Community Services Building at 79 to 81 Kite Street.
Chamber president Ash Brown said membership had traditionally been retailers, the group was looking to include manufacturers, not-for-profits, or “anyone with a profit and loss statement”.
“It’s good to be closer to a lot of the members, it makes us more accessible and transparent,” Mr Brown said.
